Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy

The Registry's zero-tolerance position on bribery and corruption. Registry decisions cannot be bought, and anyone who is offered or asked for an improper payment should report it.

1. Zero tolerance

Eurabelt Fuels Ltd does not offer, promise, give, request or accept bribes, in any form, directly or through others, anywhere in the world. This policy applies to every director, employee, contractor and agent acting for the Registry.

2. Registry decisions cannot be bought

No payment, gift, hospitality, favour or promise can influence an application, a verification status, a tier, a Reserve List position, the pace of a review or the outcome of an appeal. Anyone who offers or requests such an inducement will be refused and reported, and any related application or code will be declined or revoked.

3. Prohibited conduct

  • Bribes of any kind, including to or from public officials and employees of state-owned entities
  • Small unofficial payments to speed up routine government action ("grease payments"), even where locally customary
  • Gifts or hospitality that could influence, or appear to influence, a decision; anything given during a pending application; any cash or cash equivalent
  • Using agents, consultants or relatives to do indirectly what this policy forbids
  • Hiding or mis-recording payments

4. Legal framework

This policy is designed to meet the Bribery Act 2010 (United Kingdom), including the corporate offence of failing to prevent bribery; the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (Canada); the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act 12 of 2004 (South Africa); and the Prevention of Corruption Act (Trinidad and Tobago).

5. Gifts and hospitality

Staff may accept modest, infrequent business hospitality only if it is unconnected with any pending decision and is recorded in the gifts and hospitality register. Nothing may be accepted from an applicant during its review.

6. Reporting

Anyone asked for, or offered, an improper payment in connection with EBRICS should report it at once to speakup@eurabeltfuels.com under the Speak-Up Policy. Reports may be made anonymously, and anyone reporting in good faith is protected from retaliation.

7. Consequences

Breach of this policy by staff leads to disciplinary action up to dismissal. Breach by applicants, holders or partners leads to refusal, revocation, termination of agreements and referral to the authorities.
